I was born in Nanjing China and grew up in Beijing. My father is the artist Chuyu Wei.
Having been brought up in a house full of books and art and surrounded by my parents friends, many of who are involved in art and other intellectual endeavors, I was able to experience a part of the art world in China from a very early age.

In 2019, Danjie Wei is in New York for an art exhibition
(91st Grand National Exhibition). Many of her oil painting and watercolor works have been collected and exhibition by people from and abroad.
